The FRIENDS Room was opened in October 2015.

Thanks to our in-school designers and artists, this beautiful, peaceful Head-Space is a de-stressing, re-calibrating, anti-anxirty Room for children, parents and staff.

Field Trip Alert
Miss Daly's third class have been getting out and about in the fresh autumn air. We soaked up the vibrant autumn colours on our hunt for conkers, acorns, hips, haws, sloes and blackberries in Tralee town park.
Having collected leaves and taken bark rubbings we now know all about the horse chestnut, ash and oak trees.
We explored our school garden and were delighted to discover apples, rhubarb, cabbage and berries. We estimated that the lime tree is the oldest tree on our school grounds and is approximately 125 years old.
Having planted daffodil and crocus bulbs in our classroom we are already looking forward to next spring!!

Moyderwell Mercy Primary School were 'colouring their strings' with an End of Year Music Concert on May 29th.

After 30 highly subsidized violin lessons  and the use of violins free of charge,by Moyderwell Mercy Primary
School , over 30 children took to the stage with their performance, prepared by their violin teacher, Lucy Tanner
, from Kerry School of Music. They were joined by Samuel Abubaker on Keyboard, David Fiadoru on bongo
drum, Gavin Mulvihill on electric guitar and duo, Máiread Mc Carthy and Sophie Reidy on fiddle. The Junior
Orchestra from Kerry School of Music, under the baton of Lucy Tanner, also entertained the audience
beautifully. The School Musical Theatre Choir were out in full force for an energetic rendition of songs
from 'Abba'. Honor Hurley (Tralee Chorographer) helped the choir teachers, Karen O' Connor and
Anna-Marie O' Shea to set steps to the songs.

This is the Fourth 'Colour My Strings' Concert to be staged at the end of the school year. The first
concert at Siamsa Tire in July 2012, was the fundraiser to get the project off the ground and help
purchase violins.. All door/raffle takings for concerts in the last three years have helped fund tuition.

In September 2015, the school will offer a fully free foundation year to  First Class children, and
continue to support children on their second and third year of the 'Colour My Strings' Programme.
Ten children will graduate to the Kerry School of Music Buildings and continue subsidized group
lessons with their violin teacher, Lucy Tanner.

Shakin' and Bakin' Valentine's Bonanza

The Junior Entrepreneur Programme was a huge

success last Friday the 13th February. The pupils

from Ms. Dore's Class worked very hard and

earned a whopping 600 euro! Thank you to all

the staff, parents and pupils of Moyderwell

who supported their business.

The experience was a great learning

curve for all involved. They learned a

lot about the world of business including budgeting, cost price, selling price,

percentage profits, closing stock,

estimations, target audiences,

brainstorming, hard work, entrepreneurial

sills and ,most importantly, teamwork.

Congratulations to all Parents on Completing the Cookery Course
