Miss Daly's third class have been getting out and about in the fresh autumn air. We soaked up the vibrant autumn colours on our hunt for conkers, acorns, hips, haws, sloes and blackberries in Tralee town park.
Having collected leaves and taken bark rubbings we now know all about the horse chestnut, ash and oak trees. We explored our school garden and were delighted to discover apples, rhubarb, cabbage and berries. We estimated that the lime tree is the oldest tree on our school grounds and is approximately 125 years old. Having planted daffodil and crocus bulbs in our classroom we are already looking forward to next spring!! |

This is the Fourth 'Colour My Strings' Concert to be staged at the end of the school year. The first
concert at Siamsa Tire in July 2012, was the fundraiser to get the project off the ground and help
purchase violins.. All door/raffle takings for concerts in the last three years have helped fund tuition.
In September 2015, the school will offer a fully free foundation year to First Class children, and
continue to support children on their second and third year of the 'Colour My Strings' Programme.
Ten children will graduate to the Kerry School of Music Buildings and continue subsidized group
lessons with their violin teacher, Lucy Tanner.
